Our Staff



Practice Owner

  • Dr. Elizabeth A Racz-Burton , DVM


    Elizabeth Racz-Burton has owned the Mascoutah Animal Hospital since 2004. She has worked at the Mascoutah Animal Hospital for 10 years.  She is a graduate of Western Illinois University ('90) and University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign ('94).  Everyone calls her "Dr. Beth" and she is married to Keith Burton with 2 sons.  She shares her home with several cats and dogs, and has a special interest in exotic short hair cats.


Veterinarians

  • Dr. Jennifer D Fuller , DVM


    Dr. Jennifer has lived in southern Illinois for most of her life and graduated from University of Illinois Champaigne Urbana College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004.  She has been with the Mascoutah Animal Hospital since 2007.  She is married and has a dog and 2 cats.  Her interests outside of veterinary medicine include crocheting/knitting, camping, and being active in her church.


Technicians

  • Kathy Lashley


    Kathy has been a part of Mascoutah Animal Hospital for close to 20 years!  She aids the doctors both in the exam rooms and in surgery.  She has interests in dog training and may be able to help clients with obedience issues.  She is also interested in horse training, particularly with quarter horses and reining competition.


  • Ruth Allen


    Ruth has been a vital part of our staff for nearly 15 years!  She works both in the exam rooms and in surgery.  She is responsible for maintaining our surgery room in tiptop shape.  She loves cats and dogs, and has a guinea pig, too!


  • Lindsey Jackson


    Lindsey graduated from Jefferson County Community College Veterinary Technician program in 2005.  Lindsey is usually the one we turn to when orphan kittens turn up or if someone needs info on hand-raising kittens. 


Reception Staff

  • Christie Mugele


    Christi has great reception skills and has been a part of the hospital for several years.  She has a menagerie at home, in part due to her young daughter's avid interest in "all things animal."  She also just had a new baby boy.


  • Jackie Henss


    Jackie has been with Mascoutah Animal Hospital for close to 15 years!  Now partially retired, Jackie spends time with her many grandchildren.


  • Melissa Haas


    Melissa is instrumental to the functioning of the animal hospital as she not only does reception work but is also our inventory control officer.   She has 3 young children to run after when she is not here and has 2 chocolate labs.


  • Beth Mueller


    Beth has helped at the reception desk for many years.  She is our main medical transcriptionist.  When not here, she may be found at the local high school reception desk or out walking her young golden doodle, Elle.


  • Sandy Weyant


    Sandy has been a part of MAH for nearly 20 years!  She is outgoing and friendly and one of those people that just seems to know everybody!  She is active in her church and in the Red Hat Society.  She enjoys her pets at home and participating in a Stampin' Up club.  Her husband, Jack, owns Jack's Small Engine Repair Service in Mascoutah.


  • Alicia Allen


    Alicia is the newest member of the reception staff.  She is going to school part time, working here part time, and caring for her new baby.  She likes pomeranians and kitty cats.


  • Allana Williams


    Allana has been with MAH since high school, working at first in the kennels and then working her way to the reception desk.  She is a friend of wildlife and is trying to move the hospital in a "green" direction!


Kennel Staff

  • Josie Deters


    Josie has been a member of our caring staff for many years.  She continues to work here as she completes her education.


  • Jennifer Peterson


    Jenny P has worked in the kennels for 2 years and loves to interact with the pets staying at MAH.  She sometimes can be seen walking rescue dogs to let them stretch their legs a bit.  She attends SWIC.


  • Jennifer Armstrong


    Jenny A has been at MAH for several years.  Her ultimate goal is to be a veterinarian herself.  She now attends McMurray State University and helps in the kennels during her summer break.


  • Sean Mueller


    Sean is a McKendree University student.  He plays soccer on the school team with Jim Vollmer and is also his roommate.


  • Kalee Norrenberns


    Kalee is one of the newest members of our staff.  She attends Mcascoutah High School.   She is an avid bowler.


  • Rachel Baker


    Rachel is the newest member of our staff.  She is a local high school student.  She loves her cats and taking digital photos of everything around her.


  • Ginni Haas


    Ginni has worked with us for several years, and has recently graduated from Jefferson County Community College's Veterinary Technician program.  She has several cats that keep her and her fiance company.


  • Kathrin Peters


    Kathrin attends Mascoutah High School and helps us every day during the week over the noon hour.  She helps with the kennel work in the hospital plus she occasionally helps Sandy at the front desk with some secretarial duties.  She has chihuahuas at home to keep her busy there.


  • Jim Vollmer


    Jim attends McKendree University in Lebanon and is able to help throughout the school year.  Jim plays soccer and recently adopted a young pup named Weezie.


  • Alissa Miley


    Alissa is one of the latest additions to the Hospital staff.  She comes to us from McKendree University where she is a theater major. 


Grooming Staff

  • Linda Wilson


    Linda does an impeccable job at grooming dogs.  She is great at "sweet talking" her patients into cooperating for their grooming session!


  • Allana Williams


    Not only does Allana work at the reception desk, but also does some grooming as well.  She is great at handling pets for new hairdos and seems to have great rapport with puppies new to the grooming experience!


Hospital Guardians

  • Bridget


    Bridget is considered the "Queen-bee."  She is the oldest cat here since Bubba's passing, at 8 going on 9 years.  She lays in her own private sunshine in the morning (the surgery lamp) on her own private towel.  She loves to hunt flies and can be seen sitting in the front picture window watching the birds in the tree.


  • Estee


    Estee is hospital cat number 2!  She is easily identified by her BIG yellow eyes and her missing tail!  She often tries to come into exam rooms while patients are there and has therefore earned the nickname "Pesty-Estee!"  She has also been known to act as a "nurse," laying near sick pets as if offering comfort.


  • Vinnie


    Vinnie is our youngest cat--just exiting kittenhood.  He loves attention and is not very afraid of any patient or client in the hospital.  He has a favorite blue bird toy that he looks for in any open drawer and a stuffed puppy that he likes to beat up!  He also likes to aggrevate the two older girl kitties!
